Our arbitration Partner, Noella Lubano together with Associate, Eva Mukami and Legal Assistants Radhika Arora and Paul Kamara contributed to the Kenyan Chapter of the 2020 Chambers Global Practice Guide on International Arbitration.
An initiative of Chambers & Partners, the Guide features contributions from forty seven (47) jurisdictions and is aimed at offering expert legal commentary on on arbitral tribunals, governing legislations, preliminary and interim relief, procedure for collection and submission of evidence, confidentiality, class action or group arbitration, arbitral awards, reviews, the New York Convention, and grounds for appeal and enforcement.
Touching on key topics such as arbitration trends, enforceability and Court intervention, our team’s contribution sheds light on the practice of arbitration in Kenya with the backdrop of how increased activity in the mining, oil & gas, renewable energy and infrastructure spaces has seen the rising use of international arbitration as a dispute resolution mechanism.
Over the years, the firm has been involved in major arbitration matters representing clients in local and international arbitration tribunals including International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) and the International Chamber of Commerce. The firm continues to strenghthen its arbitration practice with our lawyers participating in major local, regional and international arbitration events and trainings. John Mbaluto, FCIArb recently attained the coveted rank of Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
