Oraro & Company Advocates has recently received its second legal recognition for the year 2018. Chambers & Partners a leading London based legal directory have released their Chambers Global rankings 2018, which saw the firm being recognised in Dispute Resolution (Band 1) and Employment (Band 2) practice areas. Referring to the firm as a “top player”, the directory lauded the firm saying, “The firm continues to lead the way and has great litigators.” Chambers Global also ranked six of our advocates; George Oraro SC (Senior Partner), Chacha Odera (Managing Partner), Walter Amoko, (Partner), Noella C. Lubano (Partner), Jacob Ochieng (Partner) and Georgina Ogalo-Omondi(Partner).
Four of the firm’s litigation lawyers were recognised by the directory including the Senior Partner George Oraro SC, who was not only ranked as Band 1 in the practice but also as a Band 1 Dispute Resolution Arbitrator. The directory said “[he is] a very, very good courtroom lawyer. Very well respected for his opinions and advice.” Joining him at the Band 1 Level was the Managing Partner, Chacha Odera. Mr. Odera was recognised as a disputes lawyer particularly in Banking & Finance and Employment (Band 2). To this, the directory said that “[he is a] very strong, particularly in employment cases” Also ranked in the same areas was one of the Partners, Walter Amoko (Band 2). His disputes recognition was contributed with him handling an increasing number of highly significant cases relating to PPPs and public procurement. In Employment Walter is Band 2 and Chambers Global reported that “When he comes to the Employment Court, you know something very serious is happening. He’s your main guy for all employment disputes. He’ll fight matters all the way.”
Noella C. Lubano was for the first time recognised for her practice in arbitration and her notable role in several important fraud and asset recovery cases. With this the directory affirmed that “She’s definitely a talent for the future.” For the second time consecutively Georgina Ogalo-Omondi (Partner) has been recogised as an up and coming lawyer in employment. Describing her, the directory noted her as “a bright spark and she’s definitely one to watch.” The firm’s growing corporate and commercial practice area got recognition in the 2018 rankings. Jacob Ochieng (Partner) was highlighted as an up and coming lawyer in the corporate and commercial space, notably handling commercial agreements, share purchases and asset transactions. The directory sited that “He’s really great. A top guy.”
